V-Wars Review 2019 Tv Show Series Season Cast Crew Online

Stars: Ian Somerhalder, Kyle Breitkopf, Adrian Holmes

Review: Based on the IDW book by Jonathan Maberry, and chronicles the stories of the “first Vampire War.” Somerhalder will star as Dr. Luther Swann, who gets caught up in a world of mystery and horror when his best friend, Michael Fayne, is transformed into a deadly predator after contracting an unknown disease. That disease spreads wide, causing more people to transform, and society to fracture. A war eventually breaks out between the people and the so-called “Vampires,” and Swann is stuck in the middle. It’s up to him to figure out what’s happening, and how to stop the disease. Unfortunately for him, Michael rises to power as an underground leader of the vampires, putting Swann in a difficult spot.
Due to the critical and commercial success of American Vampire, it’s easy to be weary of trying any new vampire comics — it’s hard to believe any newcomer can top what has come before. However, the idea of World War III being a war between vampires and humans who can at any time become vampires felt new and unique. It also helps that IDW Entertainment is looking to make this into a television series. So why not get on board before it potentially becomes a hit?

Unfortunately, too much of V-Wars feels like something you’ve read before. V-Wars has a little Walking Dead, a pinch of DMZ, and too much World War Z. The story is told from the point of view of Professor Luther Swann, a scientist stuck right in the middle of this conflict. His whole character is a little too predictable, but at least he is someone that readers can get behind. The same can’t be said for the supporting cast, as we either don’t get enough about them or they come across as stereotypes.

Alan Robinson handles the art here, and while it’s not bad, it isn’t anything that stands out. There are some good moments of gore but nothing too shocking and memborable. The designs of the vampires are very good, as they are very human-like, which adds to the emotion that we are supposed to feel from this ongoing war.

Despite a rough start though, V-Wars has the potential to be something special. It will be tough to avoid comparisons to other vampire series, but with that twist ending and more character development, V-Wars could very well be the next Walking Dead.
