The Outpost Review 2018 TV-Show Series Season Cast Crew Online
Creators: Jason Faller, Kynan Griffin
Stars: Jessica Green, Jake Stormoen, Imogen Waterhouse
Review: The Outpost is plain terrible. Nothing really more to say about it, only one question left, how many times producers want to sell to us little skinny girls beating up full grown man!? No camera angle can make this believable: fights are ridiculous bad choreographed, e.g. the girl hits warriors in full knight’s armour with her small fists (bare!) on their armour plates and on their knights helmets and the dudes manage somehow to faint…
What else!? Acting is meh, story = blabla and bla, production value subpar. Who gives such a show a green light, that’s the real mystery here to me… If just the villain would have been successful in killing the WHOLE family – we all would have been saved from the “legend” of just another redundant pretty looking heroin.
Give us back Xena or cast next time a female MMA athlete and not just another pretty face for the fighting bizz ;). I’ll never understand people who trash a show based on the first few episodes. Just about every show that I’ve ever enjoyed was awkward in the beginning.
That being said, yes the show is low budget. I’m basing my review on the story that is starting to unfold. I actually find myself wanting to know where the story is going and how these people got there. Fantasy isn’t Sci-Fi. You don’t need a ton of CGI and explosions. You just need a few good actors that will become more comfortable with their roles and a good outline that allows for branching storylines. This show has a little of both. The main plot is progressing, and they’ve already given us hints of several future paths they can delve into.
