Numerous pre-released series have covered the ground around Greek and Roman mythology, now it’s time to surrender to the South African roots with The Brave Ones coming out on Netflix this September. Akin Omotoso (also directed the Disney movie, Rise) will be directing the series and pushing us into a new world of powers and whatnot.
The series will depict the characters speaking in their native language and this representation is what sets the show apart from other series on Netflix revolving around the same storyline. Tony Kgoroge, Sthandile Nkosi, Bonko Khoza, Nomalanga Nkosi, Keke Mphuti, Gontse Ntshegang, Pheelo Kotelo, Zamani Mbatha, Lindani Nkosi and more will joining as the active cast on the show.
The Brave Ones Plot/Synopsis
Set to have six episodes over the course of the season, The Brave Ones will tackle issues around the preternatural world that is divided into three realms – “the world of the living… the world of the unborn and the world of the dead” and together, the three of them make up the “Tree of life”.
People summon gods from across these realms to look after their loved ones, but it all has a price. Only The Brave Ones can overcome such obstacles because as the trailer states, they “fear nothing”. Their only aim is to exterminate the wrongs of the world, protect the innocent and preserve the good in the land.
