Sweet Magnolias Review 2020 Tv Show Series Season Cast Crew Online
Creator: Sheryl J. Anderson
Stars: JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, Heather Headley
Sweet Magnolias, an adaptation of Sherryl Woods’s popular book series of the same name, tells the story of three BFFs who lift each other up as they juggle love triangles, family, and careers in the quaint, Southern town of Serenity.
Fans are already comparing this sweet, small-town series to a Southern Gilmore Girls—but with even more drama. If that isn’t enough to hook you, we don’t know what is! But just in case you need a little more to draw you in, here are a few things you should know about Sweet Magnolias before you begin your binge-fest.
Sweet Magnolias is about a young woman named Maddie Townsend, who decides to fulfill her longtime dream of opening a spa with her two best friends after her husband leaves her for his pregnant mistress. Get ready to raise a glass to new beginnings!
Who is in the cast?
There are plenty of familiar faces on Sweet Magnolia and we’re happy to see each and every one of them!
JoAnna Garcia, whom you may recognize from her roles on Gossip Girl and American Pie 2, plays the lead role of Maddie, whose husband Chris Klein (also an American Pie alum) leaves his family for his pregnant mistress. Enter Noreen, who is played to perfection by Jamie Lynn Spears of Zoey 101 and you know, being-Britney-Spears’s-little-sister, fame. Brooke Elliott, who dazzled fans in Drop Dead Diva, and Heather Headley (Chicago Med) play Maddie’s lifelong friends, who have fascinating side stories all their own.
Where can I watch Sweet Magnolias?
You can stream Sweet Magnolias on Netflix so if you have a subscription then you’re all set. If not, now might be the time to sign up for that free 30-day trial.
How many episodes are there?
There are 10 amazing episodes to breeze through.
Is Season 2 in the works?
Fans who finished the series in a matter of days are already clamoring for more Sweet Magnolias. And they’re not the only ones.
Star Chris Klein told The Sun: “I, for one, really, really hope that we get that opportunity. Selfishly because I want to see what happens to Bill Townsend.”
And Jamie Lynn told The Hollywood Reporter: “If Sweet Magnolias got a Season 2, that would be a dream job.”
Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t confirmed a second season—yet.
But Season 1’s cliffhanger finale seems to set things up perfectly for a second season, so it would be pretty cruel to pull the rug out from under us like that.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for another season of sweet, Southern drama!
