Although the beloved sitcom has already spawned two spinoff series (Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class) and two movies (Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style and Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas), this new show will follow up with the original cast … 30 years later.

What will the Saved by the Bell reboot be about?
While we don’t know everything yet, the new trailer (above!) tells us that the show will focus on A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez) and his life as Bayside High School’s new gym teacher. What’s more, according to Variety, Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) is now the governor of California and in hot water for closing too many low-income high schools and then proposing that the affected students go to the highest-performing schools in the state (a.k.a. Bayside High).

Not surprisingly, the series will also follow the children of the original characters.

When is the Saved by the Bell reboot’s premiere date?
Good question! NBCUniversal actually hasn’t set a date for the new Save by the Bell series, which will be available on the network’s new Peacock streaming service. That said, it’ll likely launch sometime after Peacock becomes available to everyone on July 15, 2020 (right now, only Comcast customers — Xfinity 1 or Flex subscribers — have access to some of Peacock’s content). Plus, production for the title halted in late March due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Who will be in the cast of the Saved by the Bell reboot?
A lot of your favorite old cast members (including Mark-Paul, Mario, and Elizabeth Berkley) will reprise their iconic roles. Meanwhile, Tiffani Thiessen said that she wouldn’t be coming back to Bayside High, telling Fox News in October 2019 that she was busy working on Alexa and Katie for Netflix.

Even still, many new faces are expected to shine on the upcoming series, including Josie Totah, Mitchell Hoog, Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden, Haskiri Velazquez, and Alycia Pascual-Pena.
