My Unorthodox Life Review 2021 Tv Show Series Season Cast Crew
My Unorthodox Life follows Julia Haart, the CEO of the model agency Elite World Group; and a former member of the Orthodox Jewish community.
Once again, it’s another reality docuseries that follows the premise of many of the other hundred reality shows that come and go. But is My Unorthodox Life even worth a watch? Yes, it is. The one aspect that sets it apart? My Unorthodox Life is not a standard reality show that follows many uninteresting people that audiences would soon forget about. It has interesting individuals who explore the aftermath of leaving a super fundamentalist Orthodox Jewish Community. This docuseries will easily become a binge-worthy watch!
Throughout the show, Julia provides glimpses into the life she previously had. Growing up, Julia was told that a woman’s role was to follow a husband and be a baby-making machine. It’s key to note that Haart herself has said that she is not against the religion, she is against the fundamentalism within the religion. Nevertheless, her experiences will be an eye-opener for anyone who is not aware of the standards in the Jewish Community.
One exciting part of the show is the relationship between Julia’s daughter, Batsheva, and Batsheva’s husband, Ben. If the community, if a female wears pants, a female will be shunned. Yes, pants! Therefore, this causes a bit of tension between the married pair in episode one. Having got married whilst they were still members of the Jewish community, there’s being a lot of change since their wedding day.
But of course, there’s more to My Unorthodox Life than the Jewish background. The show provides the audience details into how Julia Haart managed to successfully become a Fashion Mogul whilst fighting off thoughts of suicide and then leaving the only life she has known behind.
Netflix’s My Unorthodox Life may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s ok! There’s a likable family in the form of Julia and her four children. They all showcase that it’s possible to go into the unknown and chase your dreams. Reality TV is becoming too much at times. Yet, My Unorthodox Life sets itself apart from the other trash shows that dominate TV.
