Just Another Christmas 2020 Movie Review Poster Trailer Online

Director: Roberto Santucci
Writer: Paulo Cursino
Stars: Arianne Botelho, Louise Cardoso, José Rubens Chachá

The film revolves around Jorge (Leandro Hassum), who hates Christmas because it is his birthday. However, everything changes on Jesus’ birthday in 2010, in which when he dresses up as Santa Claus, he ends up falling from the roof and developing two personalities: one who only wakes up on Christmas day and the other who stays hungry the other 364 days of the year. With this idea, Paulo Cursino’s script promotes that old reflection that happens: I haven’t seen the year go by.

In fact, the script is based on a super simple story with the value that we should give the family, which ends up drawing attention together with the cast of well-known names, such as Danielle Winits, Louise Cardoso, Rodrigo Fagundes (Patrick from “Zorra Total” ), Raul Gazola and Daniel Filho. Putting the two together, it is a great idea for the film that seeks to stand out with other streaming productions with the same theme. It is important to mention that its simplicity does not make the script lose its charm, on the contrary, it still makes it exciting for those who care a lot about December 25th.

Speaking of the cast and the story, Hassum, who uses his typical impromptu humor for the production, cannot fail to have the same prominence as the proposed emotion. Although the character is different, his partnership with Danielle Winits makes it impossible to remember the first film of “Until Luck Lies”, in which the couple Tino and Jane lived (in 2 and 3, Danielle was replaced by Camila Morgado). During the press conference held on Tuesday (01), Leandro even said that the film was a watershed in his career in cinema.

A highlight should be made that, despite the moment we are going through, the film never touches on the subject because it was recorded a year ago, when the coronavirus was not yet considered a global pandemic and had not even arrived in Brazil. This fact can take even more emotion to those who are attached to the family, for remembering previous Christmases. Had it not been said by the production, it could also have been beaten, since its production is so simple that it seems to have been recorded during the moment we are going through.
