Chernobyl Review 2019 TV-Show Series Cast Crew Online
Stars: Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgård, Emily Watson
Review: The word “Chernobyl” has become so synonymous with what happened at the nuclear plant of the same name that it is hard to imagine that a series based on the 1986 disaster would be called otherwise.
HBO has released a trailer for its next five-part series on the basis and consequences of that fateful event. Filled with the kind of images one would expect from a biography of that dangerous episode, this first look also underscores the fact that this will not prevent the horror inherent in the event’s history.
Jared Harris plays Valery Legasov, a real-life individual who was tasked with determining the causes of the incident in its immediate consequences. Among the rest of the group are Stellan Skarsgård, Emily Watson, Paul Ritter, Jessie Buckley and Adrian Rawlins, each of whom plays with people who fight against the physical and psychological cost that attends to the survivors and that deal with the truth that is He faced everyone involved.
The five episodes of this series will be directed by Johan Renck, who previously was behind the camera for the SundanceTV series “The Black Panthers” and the first two episodes of the Netflix series “Bloodline”. Creator Craig Mazin also wrote the series, his first major foray into drama after working on films in the “Hangover” and “Scary Movie” franchises.
Note that in this announcement, these episodes will be broadcast on Monday nights, beginning in early May. Traditionally, Monday nights have been a space for the HBO documentary film, with its prestigious guided program aimed at Sunday, Friday and Saturday. After “Chernobyl”, the next step for the network in the realm of the limited series is Helen Mirren, starring “Catherine the Great.”
