Review: Honestly, I first checked this show out because Uma Thurman was in the cast and generally she picks great projects. This project is no exception. I couldn’t find a single character or actor that wasn’t absolutely compelling and fully realized. The writers avoided stereotypes and most of the thriller/horror genre tropes while still delivering an outstanding and creepy series.

The story arch could have unfolded in 8 episodes instead of 10, but at the end of the day the writing was fantastic and it kept me surprised and engaged. I really want to see a second season, there are so many places they could take this story! The revelation at the end of the season was perfect. Excellent mystery thriller. I knew nothing about the show before watching it. I’m surprised by the low ratings, maybe people expected horror, action, I can’t say. If you’re expecting horror and gore, this isn’t like that. It’s a well crafted mystery and it does a good job in keeping you interested.

The series is about an old urban legend – The one in which an organ is donated but then the recipient begins to take on the personality or a trait of the previous owner. That’s what I found was done really well on this show, how they mixed some facts with some half truths and superstitions, and it gave it a great sense of realism. (As I watched) I got a sense that something was hidden, it’s bubbling under the surface – I got more and more answers, but it still felt like there’s something I can’t quite put my finger on. That’s what is so great about mystery, it’s intriguing. The story and the characters are well written, well acted, it’s a very good tale and I personally am looking forward to a second season.

This is one of the most original storytelling I’ve seen on tv, just when I guessed this story is going a certain way, it turnaround going somewhere totally unexpected, critics must have been a lazy viewer because all I read is Uma Thurman in their review, shows how much they been paying attention before reviewing, it’s a slow burner because it gave you all these questions you needed answer and you start guessing based on previous horro or psychological movies you’ve seen, yet when the answer start to come starting episode 7, it is so mind blown you could never guess the clue was scattered from the beginning, you just have to pay attention.

Too often people wanted to see some actions or scare jump, but this series managed to make it so suspenseful without the typical horror elements. I agree with Martin Scorsese that Rotten Tomatoes is killing the filming industry because those critics are horrible critics.
