Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! is a movie that all young kids are sure to love because of talking animals and potty jokes. Can’t go wrong there! A big thank you to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment who sent us a copy of this movie so we could check it out for ourselves!
Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! is a movie that is clearly made for kids. Adults are sure to laugh along at some parts, but it is a movie made for children. My daughters are 7 and 9 and they both enjoyed Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!, but my 7 year old REALLY liked it. All throughout the movie she was gasping, jumping up and down, and talking back to Roger the Dog and Gwen the Cat. It was adorable to watch, honestly.
The plot is story is fun, despite being predictable. Cats and dogs have made up and decided to live in harmony together, for their humans. But someone wants to change that. And who could benefit from having dogs and cats fight again? The other pets of course!
A villain hacks into wireless networks using frequencies to cause cats and dogs to fight. This forces a team of inexperienced animal agents to get on the case and try to solve it. A lot of funny moments ensue, as they try to solve the mystery and restore order between cats and dogs. Kids are sure to love this because of the adorable talking animals — but there are also some potty jokes. FART is an acronym at the beginning that my girls could not stop giggling over.
Roger and Gwen’s humans go on a couple adventures as well, and open up to each other. Something I liked about this movie was pointing out how much of the world you can open yourself up to when you put down your electronics. Something I should take advantage of more often, honestly. Overall, Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! is a fun family night movie, especially if you have little ones.
Do You Need To See Cats & Dogs 1 and 2?
Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! is the third in a series, but do you need to watch the first two in order to get this movie? Absolutely not. My daughter didn’t even notice the 3 in the title and happily watched the movie with me. When it ended, I asked them if they wanted to see the first two. They stared at me in disbelief — that quickly turned to anger like I had been keeping two of the best movies on the planet from them. Needless to say, as I type this, they are watching the first one.
About Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!
It’s been 10 years since the creation of the Great Truce, an elaborate joint-species surveillance system designed and monitored by cats and dogs to keep the peace when conflicts arise. But when a tech-savvy villain hacks into wireless networks to use frequencies only heard by cats and dogs, he manipulates them into conflict, and the worldwide battle between cats and dogs is BACK ON. Now, a team of inexperienced and untested agents will have to use their old-school animal instincts to restore order and peace between cats and dogs everywhere.
Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! features an all-star comedy lineup lending their voices to this new generation of four footed and two winged friends including Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory) as Gwen the cat, Max Greenfield (The Neighborhood, New Girl) as Roger the dog, and George Lopez as Pablo the Parrot. The film is directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer) and written by Scott Bindley (The Last Summer). Producers are Andrew Lazar (Cats & Dogs, Get Smart) and David Fliegel.
